Global Make Some Noise Funds Makaton Training
24.8.23We were thrilled to recently receive a grant from Global's Make Some Noise, which we have used to fund Makaton training for our entire charity staff team with The Makaton Charity.
In August all of our team completed the level 1 training with Andrea Patterson, and throughout the Autumn and into the New Year, our Education Team will complete training up to Level 4.
Makaton is a communication tool with speech, signs and symbols and enables people living with disabilities to communicate. We already include Makaton in all of our Cnductive Education sessions, and this training will allow us to use this incredible communication tool even more and help enable our children to communicate their wants and needs.
We have ambitious plans to grow our charity and provide more services to our children and families, and using and demonstrating more Makaton throughout our sessions is one way we can do this.
